Domino® Dazzlers

Ingredients List

Domino® Dazzlers
  • 2 cups - Domino® Granulated Sugar
  • 2/3 cup - light corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup - water
  • Flavoring extracts
  • Food coloring
  • Colorful ribbons, lollipop sticks or ice cream sticks

Instructions

Line 2 cookie sheets with foil, keeping foil very smooth.

In medium saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup and water. Cook, stirring constantly, until sugar dissolves. Increase to high heat and bring to boil. Cook without stirring (15 to 20 minutes) until candy thermometer reaches 300°F or hard crack stage. (To test: put a drop of mixture in glass of water-if brittle ball forms, it's ready.) Remove from heat. As with any hot liquid, take special care in handling. Immediately stir in flavoring and food coloring.

Using your imagination, slowly pour free-form shapes or 2-inch circles from glass measuring cup with small spout onto prepared cookie sheet. Using back of wooden spoon (remember mixture is still hot), press ribbons or sticks into each lollipop immediately. Decorate with candies. Cool at room temperature.

Flavoring Ideas (choose one):
1 1/2 teaspoons peppermint extract
2 teaspoons lemon extract
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1/4 teaspoon oil of cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Quick Tip

If syrup becomes too stiff to form shapes, return to low heat until thin enough to pour.
